Mads Quistgaard is a Danish designer & architect, educator, and Founder and Creative Director of Urgent.Agency, a Copenhagen-based strategic design studio and certified B Corporation. His work explores how design shapes identity, public value, and the conditions for human flourishing in times of technological and societal change.
He teaches at The Royal Danish Academy, where he integrates strategic design, ethics, and existential inquiry into the formation of designers as reflective practitioners. Across more than two decades of practice and teaching, he has worked with public institutions, cultural organisations, and private companies, with a consistent focus on responsibility and long-term impact.
Quistgaard serves as a member of the Danish Design Council and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. His work has received distinctions including Red Dot Best of the Best and the Danish Design Award, and has been exhibited at Designmuseum Danmark. Through both practice and education, he investigates how design can contribute not only to better systems and institutions, but to more meaningful lives.
