Amy Strieter is a doctoral candidate in Creative Writing who writes poetry and prose at the intersection of nature, science, and belief.

Amy is a doctoral candidate in Creative Writing who writes poetry and prose at the intersection of nature, science, and belief. Amy studies how mapping a landscape reveals the inner life in British Romanticism and contemporary poetry. Having previously taught as a naturalist, and using her background in ecology, Amy also studies how people tell their stories about animals in Tanzania and Costa Rica. She completed a Critical Language Scholarship in Swahili to bolster her studies in Tanzania. She’s an alumna of Kenyon College and has taught for Kenyon Review Young Science Writers Workshop. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon.
