Stephanie Redekop is a Lecturer in the Writing Program at Case Western Reserve University.

Stephanie Redekop is a Lecturer in the Writing Program at Case Western Reserve University. She holds a PhD in English from the University of Toronto. As a writing teacher, she prioritizes modeling for students that the ability to analyze public discourse—and to situate oneself within it through writing—can be intellectually and even personally transformative.

Stephanie’s own research sits at the intersection of literary and writing studies. In her current book project, she examines how seven prominent U.S. essayists used the genre to navigate the fraught role of facts in public conversation, and how their efforts are instructive for writers today. She is developing a volume for the MLA Options for Teaching series titled Teaching the American Essay, and her scholarship appears in Genre, The Journal of the History of Ideas blog, and English Today.
