Nikolai Shurakov is a philosopher specializing in language and epistemology, currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Tartu.
Since 2018, Nikolai Shurakov has been studying philosophy at the University of Tartu (Estonia), where he earned an MA in Philosophy in 2020 and continued his research as a PhD student. He received his bachelor's degree in Philosophy at Saint Petersburg State University (Russia). Nikolai specializes in the experimental philosophy of language and epistemology. His research primarily explores context sensitivity with a special focus on knowing and lying, investigating how various contexts affect what we know (or feel we know) and what we consider to be a lie. His pedagogy experience includes teaching courses on Logic, Philosophy of Language, and a specialized course on "Slurs, Pornography, and Effability."
