Michael DeJonge is the James F. Strange Chair of Religious Studies at the University of South Florida
Michael P. DeJonge chairs the Religious Studies Department at the University of South Florida, where he also holds the James F. Strange Endowed Chair of Religious Studies. His academic interests include the history of modern Christian thought, theoretical issues in the study of religion, and the place of religion in modern society. He earned a Ph.D. in Religion from Emory University in 2009 and has been a Fulbright Scholar, a Fellow of the Berlin Program for Advanced German and European Studies, a Volkswagen/Mellon Fellow at the Leibniz-Institute for European History in Mainz, Germany, and a Visiting Dietrich Bonhoeffer Professor of Theology and Ethics at Union Theological Seminary in New York.
