Maggie is a public health geographer who teaches at Sarah Lawrence College. She works with the NY Caring Majority for a more just long-term care system.
Maggie is a public health geographer, with expertise in family caregiving, long-term care systems, policy and service delivery, health equity and the social determinants of health. Her research focuses on caregiver interactions with the formal health care system through the utilization of home and community-based services. She teaches public health, health advocacy, family caregiving, and environmental psychology at Sarah Lawrence College. Maggie has served on advisory boards for the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) Family Caregiver Council, the American Association of Caregiving Youth, and the New York State Caregiving and Respite Coalition. She’s been a caregiver for three decades and spends her free time organizing with the NY Caring Majority for a more just long-term care system in NYS.
Maggie holds a doctorate in Human Geography from the Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY), an MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University and an MPH in Community Health Education from Hunter College (CUNY).
