Lisa Martin serves on the Honors Tutorial College faculty at Ohio University, where she researches intersections of wellbeing and educational practice.

Lisa Martin is a music educator with twenty years of experience working with both P12 students and collegiate preservice teachers. Prior to her appointment to the Honors Tutorial College faculty at Ohio University, she served as associate professor of music education at Bowling Green State University. She completed her MME and PhD degrees at the University of Colorado Boulder, and she currently serves as Chair and Academic Editor of the Music Educators Journal.
Dr. Martin’s research interests center on reflective practice, teacher health, and classroom wellness. She has published her work in the Journal of Music Teacher Education, the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education, and the Journal of Music, Health, and Wellbeing. As a teacher, she prioritizes situated learning and building communities of practice. She’s working to visit every US National Park and spends her free time hiking, knitting, and adventuring with her family.
