Formative Education
I’m a philosopher of education studying formative education at Boston College.
Harrison is a Ph.D. student in the Formative Education department at Boston College. His scholarly interests include philosophy of education, liberal education, the psychological humanities, and cultural anthropology. Much of his current work attempts to build on Alasdair MacIntyre, Chris Higgins, and Jonathan Lear's thinking to reimagine the educative significance of sports and the role(s) of athletics within liberal education. Before joining BC, he worked as a Religion teacher, administrator, and coach (among much else) at a boarding school in Massachusetts. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy and Education from Columbia University and a B.S. in Biology from St. Lawrence University. When not working on various projects or spending time with loved ones, nothing makes him happier than exploring new roads (and inevitably getting lost) on his bike.
