Course Description:
This course invites students to discover and shape their leadership style both as individuals and future education professionals. Tapping into the wisdom of various belief systems and educational philosophies, students will craft a compass of values and principles to guide their personal and professional journeys as teachers. Through a blend of introspection, study, and collaborative learning, students will be equipped with tools and insights to navigate the challenges and opportunities of educational leadership. Students will not only explore theoretical principles but also apply them in real-world educational scenarios, ensuring they're prepared for the complexities of today's classrooms.
Knowledge:
• Understand the significance of leadership in the educational context.
• Gain insight into various worldviews, including Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Chinese philosophy, and their implications for leadership.
• Become familiar with different educational philosophies, such as Public normative education, Democratic Education, Waldorf, Montessori, Progressive Education, and the principles of Paolo Freire.
Skills:
• Reflect deeply on personal leadership values, principles, and aspirations.
• Integrate wisdom from different belief systems and educational philosophies into their own
leadership style.
• Apply leadership principles in practical classroom scenarios.
