Ian Clausen is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Augustine & Culture Seminar at Villanova University, and editor of Augustinian Studies at the Augustinian Institute.

Ian Clausen (PhD, University of Edinburgh) is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Augustine & Culture Seminar at Villanova University. He specializes in the thought of St. Augustine, and regularly teaches courses in Humanities, Ethics, and Theology both on campus and in Villanova's SCI Phoenix Program for incarcerated students. He is the chief editor of the journal Augustinian Studies at Villanova's Augustinian Institute. His first book, part of Bloomsbury's Reading Augustine series, is called On Love, Confession, Surrender, and the Moral Self (2017). He has also published articles and chapters on the will, conscience, and hope in Augustine's ethics. He lives in the Philadelphia suburbs with his wife Lauren and their five children.
