Dr. Darrius D'wayne Hills is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Grinnell College.

Dr. Darrius Hills is an Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. His first book, A Misrepresented People: Manhood in Black Religious Thought, was published by NYU Press in January 2025. This work draws upon womanist discourses, African American religious thought, literature, and Black male studies to distill new frameworks for interpreting Black male identity formation. Hills published a second book, also in 2025, with Cambridge Press' Elements Series, titled New Black Religious Movements in the 20th Century. Hills' research and teaching address Black religious thought and culture, theology, religion and gender studies, and American religious cultures.
