April Gu is an NYU Stern Clinical Associate Professor who heads up an undergraduate class on professional responsibility taken by all graduating students.

April Gu is a Clinical Associate Professor of Business & Society at NYU Stern, where she teaches a required course on professional responsibility taken by all graduating undergraduate students, an elective on human rights, and a course on the U.S. legal system. Her research examines the impact of corporate activism and international law on human rights outcomes across different sectors, and she has published on gender, economic development, and social change.
Prior to joining the faculty full-time, Gu served as Associate Director at the NYU Stern Center for Business and Human Rights. Before joining NYU, she practiced as an associate at an international law firm in New York and Singapore, focusing on the financing of infrastructure and energy projects throughout Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the United States.
A Fulbright Fellow to China, Gu holds an undergraduate degree and law degree from NYU. Beyond her research and teaching, she is passionate about engaging students in conversations about meaning, purpose, and fulfillment — both inside and outside the classroom. She holds degrees from NYU Stern and NYU Law.
