Adrian Fernandes is a former English teacher, and current researcher working on curriculum change, social justice and representation.

Adrian Fernandes has a keen interest in curriculum change, social justice and representation, which was shaped by twelve years of teaching English in secondary schools, including nearly seven years leading an English department. He completed his MSc in Education at Oxford, with his dissertation on English teachers’ journeys post-Black Lives Matter winning the UKLA Student Research Prize 2025. He now teaches on the Oxford PGCE English course. His doctoral research examines the barriers teachers face in delivering more representative texts.
